We assist councils who currently provide analogue communal TV aerial systems to their properties (including flats), both tenanted and leasehold. The original systems were designed to carry five television channels (BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5, where reception allows) transmitted in the traditional, analogue format.
Many current distribution systems are not capable of transmitting digital channels from the terrestrial (Freeview) and the satellite (Sky and others) broadcasters. This means when the analogue television signals are switched off in favour of digital transmission, the existing communal television aerials will be unable to deliver the range of digital and satellite channels.
S Kent Aerials are installers and providers of integrated reception systems (IRS). This consists of a satellite dish, UHF aerial and radio antenna which collect the broadcast signals from both terrestrial and satellite transmitters, as well as FM and DAB radio. All available signals are then distributed by new cables to a new four-way wall outlet plate in each flat. It is currently the most widely chosen system across the country because it provides the greatest choice and allows for future development.
